Legal Background
Attorney Elaine Amankwah Nietmann earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. As a college student, she interned with the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General’s Office, Family Services Division where she assisted attorney generals with child neglect and abuse cases as well as child support collection cases.
Attorney Nietmann received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law. In law school, Attorney Nietmann interned with Chief Judge George L. Russell III, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. As a law student intern, she assisted Judge George L. Russell with the adjudication process for capital criminal offenses at the Maryland Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
After law school, she interned with the Atlanta General Counsel of the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). She was a conflict public defender for the State of Georgia, and contract public defender for Gwinnett County for several years.
As a community advocate, she has raised awareness for the autism community. She has also organized activities for the African Immigrant Community as a Chairwoman for African Immigrant Heritage Month. Attorney Nietmann is a former Judicial Candidate for Gwinnett County State Court and a former U.S. Congressional Candidate for Georgia District 4. She brings a unique perspective and unwavering commitment to fighting for justice. She has a great passion for legal service in the community.
